Have you ever planned a road trip…? Trust me, it’s a wonderful thing to do even in our spare times on a social network platforms. A healthy plan with friends in a day, Keeps bad vibes away!
Planning a roadtrip, itself is a blessing that too when you have friends cum Brothers. Although, this trip was not even planned but making several plans on a road trip earlier actually worked alot here.
Garam Dharam – Murthal
So the road trip from delhi to Ludhiana-Jalandhar for the eve of Rakshabandhan with our sisters started late night. Around 12:30 we crossed Dhaula kuan and started our journey on a next level, actually the level was damn too high! it was 2 am and we took our first halt at Murthal, a newly opened beautiful Dhaba of Dharmendra paaji – Garam Dharam(new foodie junction for delhiites).
As the journey went ahead and a fragrance of soil was all there, as it rained heavily early in the morning and we reached ludhiana at dawn.
Sweet is the voice of a sister in the season of sorrow! Looking at the beautiful face of sister early in the morning was blessing for every brother(lady luck matters alot!). As the next phase of road trip was driving on the NH44 and toll on this highway is one of the most expensive tolls on National highways(not to include expressways here, but trip was worth it).
Jalandhar Cantonment :
Here comes the next destination army cantonment of Jalandhar, where our next sister was waiting already and a warm welcome from maasi with samosa(quite heavy!) and ice cream(i liked that!). It was planned sudden to go to adampur and in the hamlets of adampur was the villa of love and happiness, with the typical feeling of punjab’s pind life, villa surrounded by fields and Gurudwara next to the field making the all vibes positive. An evening spent in the Punjab region was not even planned, but that was the best part of a sudden trip where vibes were full of curiosity and feeling of excitement never died.
Writing is like driving at night in the fog. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.
A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.
After spending Rakshabandhan with sisters we left for delhi around 1 am and reached delhi early in the morning by 6 am, It was 5 hours of drive from ludhiana to delhi and we were escorting our brother in law to delhi, actually he was the one escorting four dead men! quite hectic that was driving all way to Delhi to Ludhiana to Jalandhar to back to Delhi in 34 hours.
Sometimes when I’m in the car driving, I scream at the top of my lungs as, A long drive to nowhere is the best way to clear the mind.
